I had this image in my head for some time to draw Gus from the comic book "Sweet Tooth" by Jeff Lemire.
If you have never heard of it, here is the run down.
Gus is a hybrid child. Ever since a plague hit the world, people started dieing, while few children where born with animal like bodies. Gus lived with his father, who told him never to leave the little plot of land they lived on. One cold night, Gus's father died, leaving Gus all alone. It isn't long till strange men start coming looking for him, until a large man with a shot gun saves Gus from two hunters. And thus Gus travels with Jepperd, who say he knows of a place safe for Gus to go to.
The story is really good, kind of a mix of the innocents Bambie with a setting of Mad Max.
Now keep in mind, Gus is about 9 years old, but because of his odd facial features, it kind of hard to make him look his age.
Also, I hardly ever do backgrounds, so it was really hard to get that fall look to the back.
