Amphibians know the deal in this world: they're the original badasses, right up there with fish and invertabrae.
Kinda funny, fish are one of the major players in the history of life, and then some became amphibians..and really, everything after amphibians are just modified croakers, so to speak.
My good buddy Toady agrees: Amphibians of all sorts all look like they're smirking. They totally know the score and are smug about it.

I noticed that too actually! I was looking through a massive photo book of frogs at a book store and realized... hey... they're all GRINNING! Those smug bastards !

and yeah, figure..a reptile is just a scaly amphibian with harder eggs....and a mammal is just a hairy reptile...and birds are feathery reptiles..but if reptiles are modifed newtlike critters...well...
'Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny' is how come we all are fish/tadpoles in our respective wombs, eggs and so forth for vertabrae!
