Would you believe that this is my friend Brothen's second-ever commission? I am frankly astounded at how official this looks! Like, if I didn't know any better I'd say that this was promoting a new character set to debut in an upcoming season of Star Trek: Lower Decks!
The character's biography in summary reads as follows: "...a Lykaian by the name of Garm, who holds the rank of Lieutenant Commander aboard Starbase 80 and the position of its Chief of Security.
Lykaians are native to Lykaios, a world in the Gamma Quadrant roughly ninety-seven lightyears away from the mouth of what many simply refer to as 'the wormhole.' Lykaios is an arctic world noted for being the most distant from its system’s dying star. The planet’s warp-capable inhabitants are startlingly wolflike in appearance, demonstrating angular faces, pointed ears, tails and lithe bodies covered in thick pelts of fur that provide them protection against all but the most bitter cold. They are also known for having a highly complex network of specialized cells and organs designed to defend their bodies against most well-known bacteria, viruses, toxins, parasites and many other forms of foreign material. This, combined with their heightened senses and above-average strength, reflexes and durability, has helped earn them a place on the intergalactic stage since the Federation made first contact with them in 2376.
Garm is an unusual case who stands at 6’6”, weighs 224 pounds and sports snow white fur and menacing-looking eyes with gold irises set amidst black sclera. He is the first of his kind to attend and subsequently graduate from Starfleet Academy on Earth, albeit not on the first try and certainly not at the top of his class. Although his people had long ago learnt the value of collectivism, it proved difficult for Garm to adjust to a setting that welcomed so many different alien species and their wide variety of customs..."
