This humble house in Frankfurt Sachsenhausen was build in 1292/1293 and is the oldest house in the city.

I really like the way the roofing rides smoothly up the dormer window.
The house itself looks rather modern in design.

I´m not sure if the roofing is as it was when the hoouse was build. Roofs made from slate shingles are something typical for this part of Germany, but 700 years ago, thatched roofs made from straw where more common.
