Seriously, have we not all partied with those role-players that do things based on their character's true desires?
I mean... okay.... on the one hand, yes, they *are* playing their character true. Their character will logically be motived by their own concerns, such as food and security and such. For roleplaying, they are 100% on their game and I applaud them. BUT...
Most of us assume that on some level their characters will be motivated by a base concern/perception of their own sense of honor and reliability. And this will be added and weighed against their character's desires for *personal, selfish* advancement.
But how many of us have met truly altruistic people?
Rare and treasured items they are, indeed.
