The way I had to beat that was make sure i got there with a fire shield and then fireball dash on the wall to clip through. F that barrel and anyone that says it's o obvious never had to deal with it before the net made information easy.

remember that part. and i also remember the massive adrenaline-rush-high when i figured it out after several weeks of bashing my head against that wall.

To be honest, back then I figured it out on the first try. I realized that it reacted when I pushed up and down on the controller and figuring the rest of it out was simple after that. In fact I was kind of surprised to recently hear that so many people actually got stuck at this point.
