Yolanda Martine, daughter of Mark Wells' best friend Phil Martine, asked her Uncle Mark if she could bring a couple of her friends through the mirror portal to visit Equestria. On the condition that it was kept secret, permission was granted. While there had been disbelief at first, after Phil's wife Rosa demonstrated passing through the portal, the three girls quickly followed. Yolanda had been a hippogriff from the time she had been brought there as a baby, but she didn't know what her friends would end up like. Latisha became a pegasus but the big surprise was that Ivana became a dragon!
