You know, it's starting to piss me off that I can't draw anything half decent at HOME.... It took me FOREVER to draw this next persons picture, yet if I'm at work I can whip out drawings like a preggo rabbit...
ANYWAY... the next character I'm going to introduce is rather harmless, quite peaceful and yet, for some reason (well, there IS a reason, of course...) is hated by many. Born in the beautiful city of Venice, Italy, Guido Delpagio is a good natured, honourable gentleman who...well... See, he's part of a group I like to call "The Immaculate" - men so perfect, so beautiful, so lovely that any woman who dares sets her eyes on them falls instantly in a huge infatuation with them. You see, Guido moved to Everglades to be with family, leaving his beautiful homeland of Italy. He is Ajax's kind cousin, who really is...well he's harmless. He works as a hairdresser, and...see the thing with Guido is that..he's...just...really...really romantic. He can't help it, and he doesn't really MEAN to be, he's just polite and honourable and tries to treat all women with respect, and well... EVERY...woman...wants Guido. He is Everglades most honourable bachelor.
See, Guido is actually quite hated amoungts the group. It's not because he's for real a jerk, its because every other guy is jealous of Guido because he instantly steals away female attention. He is Macquel and Ricky's number one enemy, as Macquels infatuation, Melanie, believes she is "hopelessly in love" with him, and well...For Ricky, he's "a better looking, much suaver guy with a really hot accent" to steal away all the beautiful ladies from our Latin lover. And of course, to make it even more fun, Guido really has no idea that half of the male population of Everglades (atleast the ones we deal with, anyway) can't stand his presence. In fact, he sees them as friends and "such friendly Everglades people!".
But alas, Guido here provides Ajax with much needed advice on how to not act like a jackass infront of women, and Guido is, all around, a really nice, tender guy. The kind of guy you would want to bring home to mom. Guido here is fluent in, of course, Italian being his first language and English
The idea for Guido came from a rather strange scenario. My friend had this paper thing that listed the name of her grandpa, whose name was Guido (at that time I thought it was pronouced "Gee-dough") and I thought, regardless of it's pronounciation that it was such a cool name... and then...Guido was born not too shortly afterwards. I wanted to make a character that was comical at the expense of others, so I thought making a character that liked everyone but everyone hated him would be fun. I love Italian culture and the country itself (I took Italian in Grade 10 and it was a lot of fun!) and I thought he would make a good addition to the crew. :D
Anyway, the picture itself is pretty crappy, because it was drawn at home and for some reason I can't draw anything at home anymore... But when I coloured it it looked a LITTLE better but I'm not too fond of it... I did change a little bit in terms of his colours (fixed the ears so that way it's not all black like Ajax's are...) but otherwise I didn't change anything. I find it funny how both his and Ajax's pictures are pretty crappy (maybe it's a family thing or something? XD)
Anyhoo, here is Guido Delpagio, and he is © to Jess Ratte :D
