| ... they came from the Dark - and were creatures of the purest Chaos, bringing only death and destruction... |
Our story begins on a vast continent called B'ord, which was named after the development of culture and the founding of various capitals and cities, after the lion race had established itself on this land enough to believe that they had the right to give a name to their homeland.
At an accelerated pace, the lions displaced almost all of its native inhabitants from the lands of B'ord, occupying the desert, wooded and snowy expanses. They did not know wars, troubles and sorrows, were equal to each other and lived in peace, because everything was common and there was nothing to share, in fact, except for the territory that was enough in abundance.
But after several centuries of peaceful existence, They came.
The creatures that had come out of the torn Veil, filling the B'ord with formidable armies - they came and came, terrifying only by their appearance - black, dense bodies that broke in incredible poses, sharp, steel claws that sliced through flesh like butter, embers smouldering in the depths of dark, sunken eye sockets...
The cruelty of another race could not be compared to anything - and the lions learned on their own skins all the pain and danger of mass genocide. Unknown monsters lurking for lonely travelers in the dark of night, soon became the reason for the cessation of trade. Cities were closing in haste, building defensive walls around their homes with their last hopes, but their panicked prayers were not to be fulfilled. The early seed of turmoil sown for months sprouted and began to cry, condemning the lions to extinction. The creatures were merciless - they did not spare either the young or the old, they did not even spare each other, arranging terrible massacres for the next "prey".
Ellenium was one of those who lost their family to a monster raid. When he met the eyes of the creatures of evil, he could never forget them again, waking up from nightmares and flinching nervously at the sight of any night shadow. He was young, too young to make any difference - and he had gone into the deep woods, unexplored, abandoned, where neither the lion's paw nor the Creature's hideous limb had ever set foot.
Ellenium founded a small village thanks to everyone who dared to go with him. Without making any promises or guarantees, he was pleasantly surprised when an impressive group of old acquaintances and newcomers gathered with him in search of a new home, looking for their place in this perilous world. In a quiet settlement that could not be affected by the war taking place outside the forest, Ellenium had a family - his wife brought wonderful sons, which caused all the local people to have an irresistible craving for the festival. Unfortunately, one of them died shortly after birth, leaving his parents to run around the house in inconsolable lamentations, unable to withstand such grief.
The surviving boy was given the name Ian, which means "gift of God" - Ellenium prayed to all the gods that the fate of his son would be much better and easier than that of his brother or father. Putting all his strength into caring and nurturing, leo always tried to be an example for his family, feeling an unpleasant pang of fear in his chest when he noticed Ian's sparkling with life and curiosity, looking into the distance of the gloomy thicket.
He really had no idea what they were about to face...
