Sally Acorn
Sally is a field leader and main strategist of the Freedom Fighters. She's also an expert with computers and is a skilled hacker. She rejects being the Princess of the Kingdom of Acorn, no longer interested in restoring the status quo from before Robotnik's technofascist coup. Her goal after Robotnik's defeat is to build a new, equal society based on what her and the Freedom Fighters learned living in their underground woodland commune Knothole Village for several years. She and the other Freedom Fighters started wearing red stars as a symbol of solidarity with one another.

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic was an MVP when it came to dealing with Robotnik, his robot army, and rescuing people in danger by using his super speed. Were it not for him, many of the Freedom Fighters would be roboticized slaves in a factory somewhere instead of putting their heads together to fight Robotnik's regime. Unfortunately, his hubris got the best of him, and he was captured and roboticized.

Bunnie Rabbot
Bunnie - the protagonist of this AU. She’s the main muscle of the group and helps tend the underground farm in Knothole Village. She’s from the southern region of the former Kingdom of Acorn, the Southern Baronies. She’s a sweet, tough, and ✨nasty✨ trans woman who usually is confident and cheerful, but has a lot of insecurities. She was manipulated by her uncle Beauregard Rabbot into roboticizing herself, among thousands of other Mobians who her uncle's pro-Robotnik propaganda swayed. Sonic and Sally worked together to stop the mass roboticization, preventing Bunnie from being fully-roboticized. After joining the Freedom Fighters, Rotor fitted her cybernetics with gadgets to make her just as capable on missions as Sonic. Her cybernetics are also super strong, which enhances her fighting ability. Now that Sonic is missing, it's up to Bunnie to fill his shoes.

Antoine D'Coolette
Antoine is the resident chef of Knothole Village who also lends his sword fighting abilities and air pilot skills to assist his comrades on missions. He was among the few Mobotropolis escapees to make it to Knothole Village with the help of Sonic and Sally. He wanted to be a well-respected soldier for the Freedom Fighters, but he ended up being more of a liability on missions due to his timid nature. That is, until Bunnie joined and helped him overcome his fears and insecurities. They're dating now.

Rotor Walrus
Rotor is the lead engineer and scientist of the Freedom Fighters. He studied under Nate Morgan and now collaborates with his former teacher. Sonic rescued him in a town that was torn down to build Casino Night Zone, and he's been a Freedom Fighter ever since. He rarely goes on missions, spending most of his time in his laboratory and workshop creating helpful gadgets and maintaining the tech around Knothole. He also helps Bunnie maintain the underground farm. He needs all the help he can get, so when he noticed Tails take an interest in engineering, he took him in as his apprentice.
