What's the problem with being a monarchist ?

The main problem with such a system is that you can never 100% guarantee the child will be just as naturally skilled at leadership, or even WANT to lead a country. Sometimes your son will just not be good enough, or unwilling to continue the family business. So, if you want a quality king every time, eventually you will have to break the blood line, thereby ending the monarchy. If you are not willing to do that, you clearly don't care for The People, and just want money and power for your line, and no one else.

So, an elected chief is always better.

Never said it does. There have been many good kings in history.

None of them lions though. Lions don't really "rule" anyone, just being real strong bullies of the animal kingdom.

The king is her uncle, so she's biased.

Meh.. She would get along very nicely with my mother's relatives. Which is nice as they are interesting people, and a LOT of ex Nobility.
