It still wound up being a bit more stiff than I wanted, and her head is HYOOGE, but part of the reason I created her (and human!Mocha) was to practice anatomy, and its been useful.

More realistic faces will come later I HOPE.

Her head's proportionally large, but it didn't jump out at me, it just read as a stylistic choice. And not OMG ITS MAI STAIYO but blending in pretty much.

I'm no great shakes at realistic faces, but from what I've found, more than other subjects one draws it's a matter of figuring out what information to omit and what to leave in, depending on your medium and context. Like some people doing simple line drawings try to draw the outline of the lips or bridge of the nose and other soft details, and it comes off looking weird. But if details like that are left out of a drawing with color and blending and shading, it'd be weird not to have those details rendered.
