so managed to nab a ps5 controller at the nearby pawn shop for 40 bucks. my xbox controller died and was needing a new primary controller to use. would keep using the switch controller but i hate having to keep buying batteries for it. ok i gotta say, this controller is freaking great! but it has just one issue but i'll get to that later. so right now only steam supports the controller. nothing else does. which isn't much of an issue for me since launching some non steam games through steam will recognize the controller input that way. just connect it either by usb or bluetooth and steam recognizes it instantly! the controller is pretty hefty though. it feels like it weighs just a bit more than an xbone controller and definitely more than a ps4 controller. its super comfy to hold. like the ergonomics is good! its super satisfying to hold and press the buttons and triggers. the triggers have a nice firmness to them. more firm than the xbone/ps4 triggers. the analog sticks are really accurate. same with the triggers. and the vibration, omg the vibration! now i'm not sure if the whole haptic feedback thing is fully supported but its got something. like i noticed when playing different games the controller will vibrate in different areas and in different intensities depending on what's happening in the game. it feels really good! now enough praise, onto that one flaw that makes this a bit hard for me. if and only if you're a avid fighting game player or someone with small hands, then you'll run into a bit of trouble with the face buttons. for some reason why they spread out the face buttons. that little extra bit of width between them makes it a bit difficult to play fighting games or games that require precise simultaneous button presses. so like for example in fighting games that require two buttons to do a grab or activate v trigger or x factor etc. the width of the buttons makes it hard to do so. especially if you're playing a footsie heavy game where grabs are super advantageous. more often than not i end up messing up the input because my thumb is not big enough to hit both buttons correctly. i mean i have big hands and this is an issue! just imagine if you got small hands or small thumbs. just oof. all in all i say that this is an amazing controller but get it at a discount if you can cuz they cost 70 bucks and that's a bit much. avoid it if you plan to use it for fighting games. unless you got fat thumbs then forget it. funny enough i don't ever plan to buy a ps5 but i really do like the controller.
