Honestly, this last chapter was almost done weeks ago. But, I struggled with the second half of the finale here and the look at what was being done on the national level to deal with the crisis. What I did learn along the way is that even the experts don't have a complete handle on all the effects such an event as I've described here may have because of human nature and the perfectly illogical responses they tend to have to emergencies. So I had to make up a great deal, and leave even more unsaid and implied. I hope I captured what I think the communication style of a Security Council meeting would be and the types of topics they would discuss. Let me know what you think! It has been quite a ride to tell this whole story and I think that I really let the word count get completely out of hand here (383,000 words!!). I hope you stick around for what I have next as new adventures await!

I just finished binge reading your 'Zero Day' set of stories over this week, and all I can say is, these stories are amazing, and hope this isn't the last we hear of Kim and Tom and their family! Looking forward to what more you write in the future, and look forward to reading the other stories you have already written here! Amazing job.
Wow! That is quite the undertaking to read them all back-to-back like that! I am so happy that you enjoyed their adventures and can certainly promise you that there is plenty more of them to come in the future! Did you have any particular favorites among all the scenes and characters in the stories?
I spent the last weekend devouring the entirety of the Zero Day series after seeing the comics you got from Rivalmit and grabbing the ebook for A New Purpose.
This is pretty much exactly the kind of thing I want to see more of in TF fiction. The struggle for identity in the face of such immense changes, coping with the exceptional situations facing them, the gradual embrace of the new self, all of it was really nicely handled with some entertaining scifi twists.
I'm very keen to read the next step in Kim and family's journey, whenever you're able to tell it.
Of particular note is the way you wove in the gradual mental and behavioural shifts, even so early as in A New Purpose. Maybe I missed it, but I don't think Tom ever remarked on how quickly and seamlessly wife became mate in his internal monologue during the initial transformation. It was really cathartic watching the Children who were most worried about losing themselves to their new instincts begin to accept and embrace their new selves as time went on, too.

I am sorry for completely overlooking your kind words. I am thrilled that you picked up on some of those little elements. Have you tried reading the Relentless Waves series yet? Kim, Luke, and Lucy make a brief appearance in another story as well if you haven't noticed them yet.
