Where You're Going My Little Ringtail?!
A surprise gift from
, who found out the hard way that you should never leave Amber during playtime.
It was a nice day at the Happy Cub Day Care where Marshall's mommy, Laura, has dropped off Marshall at the daycare while she did some errands. As Marshall entered the playroom, he saw two of his friends, Amber Howlington and Dan Raccoon, who were playing house together with some plushies as their make-believe babies.
As Marshall crawled towards the two, Dan, who was kind of getting bored playing house, decided to crawl over to Marshall to play with him. However, this rude intrusion disturbed Amber a bit. Because when you play house with Amber, you should NEVER leave the game until the the game is completely over. And since Amber wasn't done playing with Dan, she decided to bring him back by grabbing Dan's fluffy ringtail!
Dan tried to crawl over towards Marshall, but then he felt a sharp tug at his tail. That's when Dan turned around and saw Amber with a fistfull of Dan's tail. And with one mighty tug from Amber, she dragged poor Dan back to her play area.
"And where do you think you're going, my little ringtail?!" said Amber playfully. "We're not done playing House yet!"
"Aw, come on Amber!" whined Dan. "We been playing House for two hours straight! I'm bored now! I want to play with Marshall."
"Now Dan..." continued Amber. "You made a promise to me that you would play House with me. You can't crawl out on your children just to go out for the afternoon with your diaper buddy Marshall. You have to take care of your babies first!"
Marshall, who was familiar with Amber's "House Rules', quickly took his phone and started to take some pics for his amusement.
However, a caretaker who was watching Amber's rough behavior, put a stop to her little game. Sadly, poor Amber forgot that tail yanking is a major no-no in the daycare. For her bossy behavior, Amber got a 15 minute time-out in the daycare's Naughty Corner.
Dan, who gently brushed his fluffy tail, finally crawled towards Marshall. "Does she always behave like that?" Dan asked Marshall.
"All the time." replied Marshall. "She doesn't really mean to be bossy, she just wants a playmate for the entire day. I remember the times she would yank my tail whenever I crawl away from her when she wants to play 'Mummies And Daddies' with me. Even her mommy scolds her time after time that yanking your friend's tail isn't nice."
Marshall and Dan continued to play with each other. 15 minutes later, Amber was freed from the Naughty Corner. However, before she goes back to the playroom, she has to make an apology to Dan for her bossy behavior.
"Dan, I'm sorry that I yanked your tail and forced you to be my playmate for the day." Amber said softly. "Are we still friends?"
"Okay." replied Dan. "But remember, only soft hugs to my ringtail. No yanking."
"Promise. No yanking." replied Amber as she and Dan gave each other a gentle hug.
"So..." continued Amber. "Now that the three of us are here, who's up for a round of 'Mummies And Daddies'?"
"Um... do we have to play that game?" asked Dan nervously.
"Don't worry Dan." said Marshall as he tied his baby bonnet around his head and got out his pacifier. "I'll play the baby since I'm so familiar with the role. It's a role I was born to play!"
"You got it, junior!" laughed Dan as he set up a baby stroller which Marshall was happy to climb in. An so, with Dan as the daddy and Amber as the mommy, the two had a wonderful time playing with "Baby Marshy" as they took him out on a stroll as the cubs went outside to play.

She does have a good point about not just leaving home to go hang out with diaper buddies, but two hours is like an eternity when you're this young! Still, it's nice to see that she learned her lesson; hugs on the front or on the tail are definitely preferred over having one's tail pulled on. :) Thanks for including me in another picture with both Marshall and Amber; this turned out so adorable. :)
