Everything & the Kitchen Sink Cookies (Sink Included)
I found this recipe quite by accident in "The Homesteader" - its one of those El Cheapo "free" magazines that highlight the town goings on (in this case Natick) and I also put a few other touches in this which will be asterisked (meaning optional) :3
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
3 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tsp. milk
2 cups quick cooking oats
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup Reese's pieces
1/3 cup coconut
1/3 generous cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup M&M's
1/3 cup Craisins *
1/3 cup Golden raisins * (regular raisins are good as well)
1/3 cup macadamia nuts *
To make :
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. (it helps to nuke them both for maybe 30 to 45 seconds - no more- then you can just stir)
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add vanilla and milk and beat again. Meanwhile, in a separate medium sized bowl (I had one of those Ziploc bowls on hand, theyre rather useful) put in the oats, flour, baking soda, and salt, and blend.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mix, and then stir in the remaining ingredients.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees, get a large cooking sheet (theres no need to grease it because of the high fat...er...butter content :P)- and just throw a sheet of parchment paper right on the pan, then drop in the cookies by the spoonful- just make sure the cookies are at least three inches apart to keep them from sticking together.
Bake for a good 8 to 10 minutes (with all the extras I added, I would put on another three to five minutes) then cool on the pan and serve with a nice glass of milk :3
Enjoy :3
P.S. Yes, I shot those cookies in my kitchen sink, aren't I clever :P
