I'm strangely attracted to beasties that have human heads and animal bodies like the sphinx, manticore, harpies, etc. Especially stilted, kind of gawky one.

I could lie and say that this is my balance assignment but it isn't. I was just doodling after a day of commission work and this is what popped out.

really great rendition of the sphynx. i like how youve distanced her head from her body with such a long neck. it works without looking weird, nice job! also, do you work on a lightbox to get this pencil so clean?

I think I commented on this one when it was on dA. I quite like it, she's lovely and it's hard not to be engaged by her expression.

Then again, I love sphinxes - I even have a sphinx character - so I'm biased in that respect!

I absolutely love the detail in this picture her pose is lovely. Though she looks so sad in some way. The textural detail is lovely, I really enjoy those wings and the long graceful neck is something that I have not seen done much with a Sphinx. Beautiful doodle!
