It was his 2021 ref.

I used these two ref pieces for his actual 2021 ref sheet.

I gotten better at drawing him now, so I'll probably make a new version in the coming months. We'll see!

But, a quick run-down on what I was attempting:

Rigby's new hoodie consists of the green and purple ghost one from his human ref here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37859562/ and a Spookers shirt. However... I was considering adding more outfits and shirts to choose from, but I got lazy as usual and just scrapped this. Next time, maybe.

I thought it gave him more "pop" than the duller gray of the Batman hoodie. (Also, it's not copyrighted anymore so score one for me!)

Rigby's hair was going to be more... versatile? As in, you could color it whatever you wanted to fit with the outfit he's wearing. Human!Rigby dyes his hair all the time. I'm just lazy and don't draw it much. 🤷

The only example of this is the headshot of him in his hoodie below.

He was also going to have a darker tip on his hair that contrasted more with the odd shade of brown I picked for it. This may change in the future, as I'm trying out other color combinations with his hair.

I also tried drawing a more "dog-like" muzzle, as at the time, the Tom Nook-esque "banana muzzle" was hard for me to draw from the front, resulting in me only drawing Rig from the side. Simping over and obsessively searching for art of Inugami from Kemono Jihen Doing intricate research of the designs of the characters from Kemono Jihen, in particular, Inugami, helped me learn how to draw his muzzle from the front. No longer did I hate doing frontal profile pics of him on paper!
