I am still trying to recapture whatever luster that old yellow shell wendy had, but it seems that my time for drawing koopalings are approaching the twilight of interest, with people who are much more popular than I doing them to much fanfare, rendering my renditions practically useless.

The funny part is that his hair and headshape remind me of an small veggie from Super Mario Bros. 2. Mario should pick this guy up and toss him at Shyguys :3
You always had a unique take on the Mario world as evidenced from your Castles comics, which put the Koopa renditions in the highlight. I strongly suggest not giving up on them by going back to Castles whenever the time presents itself to put some more confidence in yourself.

I've found a lot of your drawings to contain wit or an interesting thought, rather than just a "sexy pose"...you've got storytelling down in spades ahead of a lot of the artists you might consider talented. (Then again, I don't know which ones you're talking about in particular..I could be way off.)
Actually, I never found the koopalings very interesting.
And if you are thinking of popular intuition, just remember that a popular artist gets attention no matter what they draw.
An artist is more than likely drawing koopalings because they like them, if they are consistently drawing them all the time!

In their original form, I agree. But I do see potential even though the thought of Nintendo trying to realize it after 20 years of inactivity is a long shot at best.
That's true, also. I don't think I am that bad as to say "I can't draw anything at all" because that's not true and people know that. I don't know, I think it's one heck of a shell game we are playing here in this site.
