Title: From Farm to Freshly Roasted
Express your appreciation for the farmers who help bring the food from the fields to your kitchen.
Anyways, about this piece, apparently people have made specialty poop coffee, coffee that comes from the poop of animals such as the Flying Fox (Pteropus), Asian Palm Civet cat (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus), the Indian Elephant (Elephas Maximus indicus), some apes, and birds as well. Because there is the additional process of harvesting the coffee beans from the poop, the coffee tends to be pricier, and thus the market is more lucrative.
The unfortunate downside of the specialty coffee from animal poop is the animal abuse especially in the case of the Civet Cat, an animal that eats a variety of plants and animals, are instead force fed a mono diet in enslaved conditions. I can make guesses That is not the case for all animals in the industry, but I can imagine a good amount. Oh, and also you know how Covid was a big thing? Apparently SARS originated from Civet Cats as well. Don’t blame the wildlife, rather blame the foolishness of humans exploiting wildlife at their own peril (honestly, isn’t chicken, pork, cows, bison, deer, and fish not enough for y’all? And even then it’s questionable if we should still continue supporting animal agriculture).

Hmm... kind of like bacteria reaction on pickles and kimchi or milk to yogurt to cheese? I’m thinking the bacteria reaction somehow changes the molecules which then changes the flavoring a bit, but lemme look it up.
“the fruit undergoes a fermentation process during the animal’s digestion where enzymes break down some of the protein contained in the bean. Because protein is the element that gives coffee its bitter flavour, the result is supposed to be a smooth cup of coffee without any unpleasant aftertaste.”
