EDIT: This issue of 3DN has been discontinued and won't be going any further. Sorry for those who enjoyed it but honestly I didn't have much of a clue where I was going with it. I wanted to do something bigger with it and realized belatedly I hadn't planned enough with only solid ideas of who the characters were and no plot. Sorry.
FINALLY! I have been sketching pages intermittently between commissions here and there. It's become my fun side project where I can do whatever I want. I am new to comicing so if you have a PHD in comics or some shit, please note this is just something I'm doing for fun 8|
This little snippet will involve how Kana and Secret met in fictional verse. None of this is really true, we just made it up for fun.

lolol! Well, we get flies, and they bite, but we have this guy who comes camping with us and he is the fly destroyer. He will obliterate all the flies.
As far as dressing slutty goes >_> well, when you spend most of your time camping at the beach, that's a practical way to dress. I guess our camping experiences are very different XD

Mine are mostly from when I was a kid, so I have no memories of anyone dressing slutty...at least not that I was interested in. lol No beaches in CenTex, either...unless you count the lake, and I hate the lake.

I like Kana's outfit. The blousey, open shirt she's wearing looks really cool and comfortable for the middle of summer, and it's just kind of a neat design, too.
I kind of envy them. I haven't been camping in forever and a day, and I've never gotten to camp out in the middle of nowhere like they are. I'll be looking forward to seeing how this develops.

Youre obviously a very talented artist, but I would really consider studying more layout/storyboarding before making comics. This was kinda confusing to read, it's really all over the place, and the frames aren't very defined. Serif text is also not exactly the best for comics, I forget the reason why, but you wanna stick with sans-serif caps if you can :3

I'm not taking offense. I'm just pointing out the description where I say quite plainly that I'm really not looking to do this professionally, just for fun. It's the thing I do to get myself out of the frustration that sometimes comes with commissions, where I have all these limitations and stipulations to fulfill. Here I'm doing my own thing my own way, wonky boxes and overlapping panels to my heart's content.
Also, as far as layout and frames go, people do learn how to read comics differently. I personally hate the perfectly even boxes in neat little rows. Many webcomics I follow have very little in the way of neat formatting but you learn how to read it in their style. Manga is another good example of uneven, overlapping panels.
The font is negotiable. I browsed through quite a few and liked none of them so I'm probably going to download a few and see how they look.

Re: Even little boxes: Trust me, I know. I learned all about "breaking out of the box" with Craig Thompson's "Blankets". There's panels with absolutely NO frame whatsoever, yet there's still sense of boundary TO be broken, if you know what I mean, not an entire universe (panel) shaped around a character's existence. The fact that a character breaks a panel says alot. :)
That's a fair point to make, and (probably on a different day) I'd have really appreciated the criticism. Today was sort of the day I got tired of drawing what other people told me to (love my job, really do, but commissions get wearisome after a while, and this comic has become my vent where I get to draw something I enjoy without having to worry about nitpicks or alterations). So yeah, I will take what you say into consideration, I'm just not intending to take this comic to a professional level any time soon and would prefer to dabble at it as a fun experiment rather than a serious critical venture.
You're welcome. Honestly if I had the extra money, I'd commission many pics from you of my jackals doing all sorts of wonderfully dirty things to those two (Kaj and Katia). I'll deposit some checks, and see where my bank account is at. I can't make any promises, I'm saving up for a quality video camera. I dream of being a filmmaker.

Agree with some of the above, too, Kana's outfit looks great. Reminds me of a Sexy Indiana Jane outfit I've seen occasionally at the adult trade show I've been working at. Definitely makes sense for a very light weight and cool outfit for hot camping weather.

you has permission to use one of my sonas' versions or any other of my chars, if you need a extra char or a neighbour! if you just gonna stick with them four chars is your decision.
