Contest prize for Ameko-Shadowsong on dA for winning 2nd in my contest. This is her unicorn Silver and gray tabby kitten, Split.
Dapples sure do take forever xD And I know the kitten is huge in size comparison to the unicorn, so please don't point it out, if I made it much smaller it would be nearly impossible to see her or get any details.
I drew to this that she wrote:
Silver was absolutely certain he had a problem.
His coat had the glorious dappling of sunlight through foliage. His mane and tail streamed behind him when he galloped in cascades of starlight. His unridged horn scraped the sky in a spire of pure sterling. His hooves rang like wedding bells as they touched the ground--something, he'd been told, that was quite annoying. But after all, he'd pointed out, they only chimed like that when he was trotting over something hard, like a road. Otherwise, his hooves just tinkled softly like the quiet laughter of faeries.
Silver's problem, he was sure, was his name. The dappled stallion like to wax eloquent when he spoke, and 'Silver' just didn't seem quite the dazzling name to fit his image. He wished to have it changed, but Naming was a serious business, and the unicorn had felt it was best to seek out a sorceress in this matter.
The kitten perched behind his withers, a grey tabby, thought Silver was quite a good name, one with just the right amount of glory to not be tawdry. But as her name was Split, and she was quite proud of it, Silver hardly thought her the expert on names.
