The other day I was checking my FA inbox and had a new watch, so I checked her out. To my delight it turned out this person was a singer, and not only that but she was a really GOOD singer.
This person is
Hickie, a fellow UK resident (which makes her doubly awesome since I am also English).
She has submitted a cover of this song in her gallery, I urge you to go and check it out because it is beautiful. I've wanted to cover this song myself, but never got around to sorting out backing for it.
However, I am warming up my voice ready to get my collaborations done, and used the opportunity to do a quick cover of Fix You, inspired by this taltened young singer :3
I am not trying to compare or outdo her, I think her singing this song is just untouchable but I really wanted to give it a go myself.
Unfortunately as is per usual for my household, there are a few door slams and dog barks in the background :P But nevermind eh.

Randomness time, can hear her accent more than I can hear yours in her singing voice. Which reminds me of one time I showed my friend one of your songs, she knew you English, I relisten, I still don't hear it xD Even now, sometimes, more often not, but you are awesome regardless and my friend agrees. ^^

Words that I sing in an "English" accent:
"Don't" "Can't" "Know" "Home" are among a few others. I don't draw them out like american accents do. Mainly the most prominent of all is "Don't" and "Can't"
Hickie has a grgeously pure voice, I just get blown away by it when she sings Fix You. x_______x so envious XD!!!

But seriously, you do sound really good. I know that your probably not pushing you're voice hard right now, but it still sounds great. And yeah, that was another delliberate example of needing supervision. XD

No other instrumments, just my poor battered and beaten guitar lol X3 It's steel-strung, maybe it sounds like something else like that?
And thank you very much. I do like Coldplay's songs, but I feel the band is pretty damned boring lol They're very dreary and never seem to go all out on anything. It's sort of easy listening background music. I don't listen to them much. There are only a few notably 'different' songs of theres out of all of them, 'Don't Panic' is one of them. Can hardly say they're a talented bunch, they're jpretty unexciting in my opinion in a technical sense.

Well, for me they're jsut something I like enough to listen to sometimes XD You're right, the lyrics are a bit weeak most of the time. I do like this song's lyrics though, they're pretty powerful in places.

I am really happy you like it :D I have listened to your version of it sooooo many times x_x;;; I just love how emotive your vocals are. It's frustrating for me, my voice doesn't come off very emotionally sometimes. I may be too critical of myself though :/ I don't really know.

I think you actually did convey a lot of emotion when you sang this, its more of an encouraging "I'll fix you." Rather than the more depressive, "Your really broken, but i'll try..." :P

Hi :D! Wow ^^ I'm flattered, very flattered... I love playing the guitar and it's nice when someone says it's ok! My equipment is nothing special as you can tell, I just use a Samson usb condenser mic for both guitar and vocals. Honestly I should dig out an amp and plug the guitar in to the soundcard but I never bother >.<;;
I would one day really love to be able to have a little sound-proof studio room with all the decent mics and pre-amps I need - plus some peace and quiet for once!

I'm glad that it sounds ok. There is some background noise, but the actual quality of the sound from such a tiny/low cost mic really impressed me when i bought it. Thanks so much for commenting on this, it does give me encouragement as I do worry about the quality of what I record.... also thanks for the compliments too, I just don't know how to take those! x
