Plants Is Curious Critters
I've seen plants grow from cracks in concrete.
I've seen plants growing from piles of leaves.
This is the first time I've seen a plant growing from a pile of leaves on a concrete slab, nowhere near a crack...
Anyone know just what the little indefinite is? Ivy? Maple?

It's definitely not maple, the shape of the leaf is probably parallel evolution. Likewise ivy; the leaves look too soft for that.
A little 'nest' of dead leaves, stems and... pine needles? probably left by a whirlwind months ago.
I've go some sort of tiny green plant growing on the bare-ass-fault pavement of my driveway. When it gets a bit larger, I'm going out there with my good camera and the macro lens. It's going to rain all weekend, so I'll try and get it Memorial Day (they're promising sun).

My neighbors have large pine trees, hence the needles. I'd raked the back porch some weeks back, but the weather has been rotten around here, so I hadn't gotten around to cleaning up the pile.
Now I don't have the heart to, at least until I find a nice pot to transplant the little bugger. Determination like that deserves better than a lawn and leaf bag... :)
I wonder if it could be grapes? My house was built on farmland, and this town was famous for its grapes once upon a time...

Looks like "soft maple" seeds (the spinners) and seedling leaves. Pine needles and the vanes on the maple seeds hold water and the seeds have enough "food" in them to grow a bit. Should be quite easy to get some saplings to grow from that clutch, if rabbits don't eat them first. When I start trees I must cage them AND provide something else for the rabbits to nosh on, they LOVE maple seedlings.
