they have to, since Fimir as a species are owned by Games Workshop and the Hasbro Hero Quest reboot is 100% Hasbro

Man, I too was hoping for the swamp lurkers to be Fimir so I can go from Tzaangors to superior Fimir milf. New orruks are neat, but I was hoping for a reintroduction of the fimir since they haven't had love in a long long time. I'd very much prefer new races then spin offs/variants on existing ones.

Man, I don't get why GW keeps ignoring the fimir for the AoS setting. Sure they walked back Slaanesh due to wanting AoS to be a bit more friendly to players of all ages, but fimir are just cool one-eyed monsterthings that reproduce by ohhhhhh right. : (

the reproduction thing could very easily be retconned to using kidnapped victims in some dark ritual to make more of themselves or something, or otherwise omitted if they were brought back, and I honestly would prefer it if they did, it's the worst and dumbest part of their lore. It's not as important a part of their identity as being swamp dwelling, mist manipulating, kidnapping boogey men. I just like the swamp boogey men angle and think they look neat :<
they also fill me with nostalgia for Hero Quest which was my first foray into RPGs and miniature gaming.

Srsly yeah they could've just moved bits of their lore around like they did with a lotta other stuff : P

But more importantly WHAAAAT your first taste of tabletoppin' was Hero Quest too? Me and my buddies played the hell outta that back in 3rd grade, yet it wasn't until just a couple years ago that I realized it used the Warhammer Fantasy framework. I was on a nostalgia binge and looked it up, and realized, "Hey that's neat, the Evil Knight enemies are called Chaos Warriors. That's...... hey wait a minute."

And I completely forgot it had fimir in it until just now : O

That's basically my experience with it too. My brother got it when I was smol, don't remember how old I was... But I never knew it was a Warhammer thing until, like 10 years ago when I met a friend online who was also a fan of fimir and informed me they were a Warhammer original species.
Fimir were always my second favorite baddie in the game after the Gargoyle
