On a mystical island in the middle of the Pacific lives Ulmo the Manokit. Once a year a powerful storm rolls through the island and leaves behind various treasures from the human world. The morning after the storm the many manokits of the island collect and gather the treasures upon their shores. These treasures can be anything from simple household objects, to books, jewelry and even humans.
On this occasion Ulmo found in the sand near his home a strange silver piece of metal.
"What is this"? He thought to himself as he examined it. At first he thought it was some kind of brush but when he found it hurt to brush it against his fur he decided that that's not what it could be.
He thought maybe it could be a weapon... but the points were not sharp enough nor was its reach long enough to be used as a spear. He brought it into his house and tried to figure out what he could use this strange treasure for. As he thought to himself what it could be used for he tapped it on the surface of his table and noticed it made a pleasant, dull ringing. Ulmo began to move about the house tapping this strange treasure on many different surfaces and found it made different sounds for each surface. On wood it was a soft thunk, on metal a pleasant high-pitched ring and on shells a simple tap tap tap sound.
He got to work and by the end of the day he had found a new use for his new treasure, tied together with fishing wire he had made a wind chime with sticks of wood, metal and sand dollars.
He sat on his porch in the setting sunlight and peacefully listen to the beautiful sounds that his strange new treasure made as the wind blew through the wind chime.
"It's a nice treasure and makes such sweet music, I wonder what the next storm will bring".
