Aelius - Complete Redo - Demo 4
I spent most of the day slacking off from inflating balloons and working on this. I decided that the original song just didn't cut the cake, so I completely redid everything on the same instruments. I think this song holds together a little better now, and it also gives me an excuse to add a ton more effects, automation, and "chapters."
That's right, I'm hoping to go full-on Infected Mushroom on this one, and now I can see why it takes them so long to release a new album, at least, if I substitute my inexperience for their touring.
I also found out through menu-diving that the drum machine plugin I got for "free" with Cubase allows me to have four effect chains in the drum machine itself, so I added two compressors to my drum, and a tube saturator and it came out slightly different, but a lot more... "comfortable" sounding.
I'm willing to bet that the tutorial videos that came with Cubase would have explained that, but honestly, I prefer the trial and error method of learning new software, I'm just lucky that this program fit so perfectly with my style, and let me throw in so many awesome plugins! (And I thank the gods of music production for Metalizer and Tranceformer, they're definitely my favorite plugins~)
I'm thinking I might try to make a quartz resonator circuit to sample from, since I have some 25Mhz crystals that I bought specifically to build the oscillator I named my "stage name" after - Crystal Oscillations. I've had no luck so far following diagrams, but I think the issue is my lack of quality components.
Sorry about the rant there, I'm just... excited? This is rare for me, but I like it!
