Have you considered that maybe he's just tired of being infantilized by a movement that seems to deify victimhood? As someone who falls into some "marginalized" categories myself, I actually can relate to that. Not all of us like having our existence used as an excuse for other people's virtue signaling, especially when it just makes it harder for us to be seen as normal people who just want to live our lives.
YOU DUMB CUNT MOTHERFUCKER PLEASE USE YOUR NOGGIN AND REALIZE THAT RHETORIC REVOLVING AROUND "POSTURING" SHOULD BE SAVED FOR CORPORATIONS AND POLITICIANS AND NOT SINGULAR ARTISTS ON THE INTERNET NO ONE THINKS YOU'RE COOL OR ENLIGHTENED FOR WANTING TO KEEP LGBT EXISTENCE QUIET GO TO THE FUCKIN GYM OR AT THE VERY LEAST TWO FEET OUTSIDE YOUR FRONT DOOR BUD
"Open up a dictionary, educate yourself". Ok, I start!
Propaganda: information, ideas, opinions, or images, often only giving one part of an argument, that are broadcast, published, or in some other way spread with the intention of influencing people's opinions:
- political/wartime propaganda
- At school we were fed communist/right-wing propaganda.
- One official dismissed the ceasefire as a mere propaganda exercise.
A furry on the internet drawing their fursona with a flowercrown and being proud of who they are is not an argument and not, in fact, "propaganda".
Someone saying "hey I'm bisexual" is not an opening for any discussion, let alone a spreading of information of the government.
If it bothers you so fucking much that someone drew flowers of specific colors, maybe you should log off and drink some tea and reassess.

Look, I don't have a problem with this image specifically. The whole remark about opening a dictionary was directed at the other guy who threw a huge fit over me pointing out his strawmanning and claiming I was using "conservative buzzwords". I was simply defending
ZalanBelDahl from a bunch of people who were overreacting to what he said about how tired he was of the whole "Pride Month" thing in general, which is understandable. It can feel a lot like propaganda when you see the same rainbow colors everywhere you go, especially when a good portion of it feels less like genuine self-expression and more like obligatory virtue signaling.

I would understand where you're coming from if it was a cooperation or a social media influencer that we are talking about, posting rainbows and hashtags where it would be clear that it's only for their business.
But this is nothing like that.
This is an LGBT artist that we're talking about who doesn't do it for just the sake of doing it. They do it to show everyone that they're proud of who they are and to telling anyone else that they're not alone. They do it for their own personal satisfaction and expression and sharing that with others. Calling it "virtue signalling" is just disrespectful, assuming and disingenuous.
Furthermore: You're sick of seeing it? You don't like it? Great. Go on Twitter or Reddit etc. and talk about it there. You keep on saying "they just state their opinion!!". Yep. So does anyone else here. And their opinion is that theirs is shit. If they cannot take that then they should think about the time and place to state said opinion. The comment thread of an artist self expression is non of that.
That is not a violation of your "free speech". You have freedom of speech. What you DON'T have, however, is freedom of consequences.
So if you walk into an anime club and feel the need to say "anime is cringe tho :/" then you can't really get all shocked and pissy if all you get is bashing and disagreement.
And lastly: What kind of purpose would a comment like that even hold? Under a person's artwork? What kind of response would you even hope to get?
"You're right sir, I'll delete it immediately".
"True that. Please tell me what you want to see and I'll set my personal desires aside and draw what you want instead, random stranger on the Internet".
In what world is it appropriate to just go to a content creator who chooses to express their identity via art and go like "I'm sick of seeing this :/ People should only be gay in silence" and NOT expect a negative response?
You still want to comment that? Cool. Do that. Expect your backlash tho. And if you can't accept that, then... don't.
TL,DR: Read the room.

Again, I don't have a problem with this. You just want to assume people like me do so that you can fume for multiple paragraphs about how much more tolerant you think you are. It makes you look childish.
It's the corporate pandering that annoys me more than anything. I'm tired of people acting like they're "woke" because they drew a Disney-inspired character with rainbow colors one time while pretending to care about gay people for 1/12th of the year. It's just hollow and meaningless. If you think that means "gay people should live in silence", you're reading way too far into it.
Also, way to completely change the subject to talking about "violating freedom of speech", which was never even an argument here. When did anyone ever say that? No one's asking for this stuff to be banned or anything.
And no, I'm not going to "read the room". That's just a dog whistle for "Conform to the popular opinion of the echo chamber or be publicly shamed." I hate to be the one to tell you this, but people are going to be upfront about their opinions whether you want to hear them or not. You're free to ignore them if it bothers you that much.

You "don't have a problem with this"? And yet you rant about the "pandering" and, for some reason, connect that with this piece?
In what way is this drawing trying to be "woke"? In what way is it saying "I care about queer people" instead of just saying "I'm queer"?
In what way is this personal drawing "hollow and meaningless" when it shows nothing else but the artist's persona wearing a flowercrown?
How the hell do you connect one and the other?
You don't? You "don't have a problem with this"?
Then why the hell are you going on about an entire different topic and defend someone that connected this artwort to hollow pandering of cooperations?
You say I just "like to assume so I can fume", while you do seem to have a problem with this.
My "paragraphs" were not about me, in any way. Pointing out that someone "writes a lot in an argument lol" as if that would be a bad thing is childish instead.
Who is that changing the subject? Wasn't that you entire reason to comment in the first place? To defend someone who was "bashed with overreaction" and saying that he's "just stating his opinion"? You came here because you didn't like how someone got backlash for an uncalled for comment. So yes, this is the subject.
Your lack of self awareness of your last sentences...
"people are going to be upfront about their opinions whether you want to hear them or not"
Yes.... exactly... and the people here are upfront with telling you and that guy that you're talking trash.
"You're free to ignore them if it bothers you that much".
Too bad that you didn't take your own advice I guess?
Dude. Again.
There's nothing wrong with stating your opinion. You can do that. You did. And so did this guy.
But if you would come here, spewing about "propaganda bullshit" and implying that other's are "insane" or something for expressing themselves, then don't be surprised if ppl tell you to fuck off.
I mean- the point where you decided to intervene was when ppl were saying nothing more than "lol ok bro" and that was already "too much" in your eyes?
Yea ok
