Yeah I've been wondering that too abotu those particular tail what the composition is, Seeing as how they're generally stiff buta t the same time poseable, somewhat like my headcrests on the sides of my head. But I think cartilage makes for a good explanation.

I'd never thought about how pikachu tails would work on real animals. Maybe they'd be naturally kinked tails very long vertebrae and either stiff fur or light muscle hanging down to give it 'fill.' They don't use them for anything but as a warning to predators (like their yellow color and red spots), so they could just be fairly normal tails with highly eccentric fur length.

I say dunk it in the tub so we can see what it looks like soaked. =D
