Just some simple, cutesy art of Melissa, a little Geoterran Hyena character that was actually one of my very first attempts at "anthro" back in 2004--back before I even knew what "anthro" was and I was just drawing cartoon animals based on a hodgepodge of influences including Disney, Looney Tunes, newspaper comic strips, Pokemon, and Digimon.
Her design has gone through quite a few revisions the past 17 years, but she's still that same tomboyish 8-year-old hyena princess (she's literally a princess, her mother is the clan queen)--just with a bit less of a "rolled around in a Hot Topic clearance bin" fashion sense.

Very glad you like her! Tomboys are pretty fun, to be honest.
Now that you mention it, I've been considering drawing Marshall with one of my characters for quite some time, but honestly I've been a bit too shy to ask if that's alright. Would it be alright for me to note you sometime to discuss ideas?

Indeed! She doesn't look it one bit but her mother is the Queen--but she's not interested in that fancy "princess" stuff one bit, and her mother encourages her to be humble and play with the other cubs rather than keeping her hidden away in the palace.
I still haven't decided if Jack and Sawyer actually know she's the princess or not, but knowing Melissa it's never come up. I guess they'll find out when she invites them over to play, and leads them into the ancient temple/palace at the edge of the village, where a thousand generations of Queen Matriarchs have lived and ruled from...
