Here are all the wear plates welded in place and ready for hardfacing. Yes it's being patched back together but I'm doing is good as I can with what I have to work with here at the shop.

...it was the one that had a lot in common with a goldfish. He was... almost as smart as one? Or drank like one?
I've had a couple of coworkers in the past who tried to get me to do all their work. Usually it started out "How do I do this?" and ended up with their project getting dumped in my lap. Both of these guys were older and better paid than I was, but they had been hired in from other companies and were supposed to be rain makers. Sit-downs with my manager or director ended in them being forbidden from asking me for assistance. One was given a simple task he screwed up and cost the company 3 million -- gone. The other missed a massive layoff by runnning to Employee Assistance and copping to alcoholism and substance abuse. It made him un-fireable. He'll retire this month at 65. I got laid off!

and that's about the state of most cheap assed companies hiring incompetents... we had a computer program at my last job that cost the company 80K and they had to use it as part of the deal for them to work on the Eclipse jet. It was total garbage and no one knew how to use it. The company used maybe 20% of the program and were to cheap to get anyone trained up on it, and too cheap to pay for the upgrade that fixed all the problems the original they had. Of course I was told to sit and figure it out - only to find out the company was denied access to the problem by the company that owned the program. This was meant to have you keep shelling out money to them. I explained the impossibility of this mess, covid came around, and I was a fifth wheel no longer needed.
Oh well... I wanted to retire anyhow...

I worked writing and maintaining the policy print and letters to agents/insured for over 25 years. The products we had to support were always like that. Two completely different suppliers, same issue. You had to have their technicians install the upgrades. I had a Director all but call me useless because I couldn't follow the instructions in the user manuals to do the upgrade. He finally called the vendor and they sent a tech. I called my Director to watch the process. He arrived just as I asked the tech, "Why didn't that work for me?"
"Oh, clients aren't allowed to install new systems or upgrades." Straight from the horse's... mouth. Saved my bonus that year.
