I've been meaning to create a character OC (that's up-to-date with my current art skills), so here she is -- Adlai Tiernan! This is her character reference sheet, but I did also create a sheet of character expressions for her that should be posted around the same time as this. I may have some illustration ideas for her in the future :)

**Head/Face**
Tiernan has a short face, winged pink eyes, and a downward nose.
I gave Tiernan ram horns so that she may embody the mountain animal’s (mental) endurance and (moral) surefootedness to climb the path to the truth, no matter how challenging.
She keeps her horns neatly trimmed, preferring to serve justice through reason and eloquence over brawn.
**Outfit**
This is a more scholarly outfit. Gotta love the billowing robe look! The white neck tie is inspired from court dress, while the hood and three white stripes on the sleeves are inspired by PhD robes.
I wanted Tiernan to have a large hair piece with some form of curls, to evoke a similar feel to those wooly court wigs. The upper portion of her hair is styled in a vintage updo ending in a bun. A gold halo ornament is holding the bun together.
The lower part of her hair falls down in spiral curls, which alternate in color between white and purple. I chose purple as a highlight color, due to its associations with high social status and wisdom.
**Natural Body**
Tiernan’s natural hair is body-length and white like wool, a nod to the ram/sheep theme.
I decided to give her an Irish surname, since a lot of sheep are associated with that region of the world. When I found out Tiernan means “little lord,” I thought it would be a cute surname to give to a character short in stature but tall in presence.
Because Adlai is a name more commonly given to males, her actual gender comes off as a surprise to some.
