This is a portrait drawing of Dr. Daniel Lorenz - a Feldwebel (Symbol: ^) in the G.D.A. (German Dragon Army).
He's the first assistant of Leutnant Soleil del Sol M.D.
After some time, finally some high resolution traditional artwork again! ^^
I'm particulary happy about the fact, that this character here does NOT look like "Reptile"... aside the fact that he's brown. :D

I AAAAM on vacation!! :D But this means, that I have finally some TIME to draw more than usual. In the next 5 weeks, I'm going to submit at least 3 new pictures (2 digital and 1 traditional)... and 2-3 "other" artworks, which I won't post here.
*grins-adult content-grins*
I am spending my holidays at home, so I have time to draw. ^^
Uh, and this artwork here is a typical "head-to-chest-portrait". It was never meant to show more.

Aw, you're talking about the scale textures... or what? ^^ In fact, I work much better with a traditional ink pen. But you're right, you need more concentration and disciplin. After all, you cannot erase it!! :O
But it's all about practise, really. ;)
I have used markers (permanent) for the basic colours of the skin, cloth markers for the uniform and acrylics for the highlights.

well yes; scales must've been painstakingly lengthy ._O. But i meant the overall piece.
What ink pen do you use? I use micron, rapioliner and rapidograph (fantastic for high details) and the brush pen (or ink brush on rare occasion).
Permanent markers? like copic or prismacolor?
Cloth markers? never heard of those...or maybe i have :P.
I can understand acrylics for the highlights but i've often had trouble getting it to that white. I assume you used a THICK glob for consistency?
Sorry for the questions but i've been thinking of getting back into traditional paintings myself ^-^''

No, sorry. There is no ENGLISH version. BUT there are plently of html pages at my homepage, where you can SWITCH to ENGLISH by clicking on the Union Jack Flag! :D
Anyway, in time there will be more ENGLISH pages around. And most stories (!) are ENGLISH, too. So, it's not that bad, is it? ^^

I slightly recall YOU "telling" or asking me to do another traditional piece... XD In fact, when Dracenmarx was visiting my home (we shared a nice holiday time), he wanted to have "something" from me. It's been somewhat of a tradition, that I draw a picture for my guests, hehehehehe. And HE got this character - in DIN A4 and fully traditional!!!!
I'm glad you like it. It seems, I did not lose any of my inking skills. ^^ And yay about the eyes... I always do my best to capture feelings there.
THANK YOU

Hey, I don't mind if a comment appears in ONE day or in ONE year! ;) I really appreciate the comment. *hugs*
Thanks very much.
I try hard to project common human expressions on my fantasy characters... it usually works well, but after all: I'm doing this for a long time by now. ^^
