For a sculpture the same scale and detail as this one, it would be in the hundred dollar range, and I think I could make a smaller one for 30$ to 40$.

Apoxie clay directly over wire, then sanded after it cured, then more clay to fill in gaps, then more sanding. It's deceptively simple.

Ah, there you go. I haven't tried Apoxie clay yet, but have heard good things. Now I see it in action. :)

Looks great! Does the apoxie clay add more weight to it? Or is it about the same if you didn't use it?

It adds weight. It seems to me to be a bit heavier than Super Sculpey when comparing the same volume of each.

Dyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam. I REALLY hope those legs and tail are where most of the wire and epoxy sculpt went. And the paint job is beautiful-- most people never comment on that but I hate THAT part most about sculptures. 8( But this is smooth and lovely.

Oh yeah, this would not have worked without something as hard and tough as apoxie clay over wire.

Thanks. I actually had to go back and re-do some of the paint job to be happy enough with this to post, so it makes me happy to get a comment on it. =)
