You've never owned a pet, I guess. I threw that in there as a curve-ball. I, honestly, don't know if squirrels can catch it, but it can infect a lot of other animals. It's related to human measles and is deadly to animals that catch it. It affects different animals in different ways. For example, in cats, it attacks the blood and bone marrow. Wild animals that get it act similar to those with rabies (lack of fear, disorientation, if notornal-out during the day).
