I finally finished the second dragon for my sticker set yesterday, I'd have finished her about a week ago but my blue markers ran out half way through coloring her wings and I had to order new ones.
I have no idea why a flying creature would have holes in its wings, or giant, floppy, tail thingies coming off its head, but apparently lacewings do anyway :P

I finally finished the second dragon for my sticker set yesterday, I'd have finished her about a week ago but my blue markers ran out half way through coloring her wings and I had to order new ones.
I have no idea why a flying creature would have holes in its wings, or giant, floppy, tail thingies coming off its head, but apparently lacewings do anyway :P

come to think of it though, the head tail things could be a resonating chamber or something... I was thinking about putting a sort of flexible stiffening rod in through each of them, and gas bladders to make them lightweight, maybe they can vibrate the gas bladders to make noise somehow. Also, maybe they're not extended all the time, maybe they can release the gas and unfurl them? Hmmm...
no, I guess I didn't explain it very well, lemme reword that.
the head tail dealies would be hollow, but my original thought would be to have a still, but flexible rod going through the center of each one, so they could be held straight out when flying, so they don't just flop all over the place.
But, i suppose if i went with the gas bladder idea, they don't need the rods, they'd just deflate the tail/tentacles when they wanted to fly, then they'd be out of the way. Maybe i'll do some sketches, I need to get out of another bout of art block, ugh.
