Another model kit, this time of the HG 1/144 of PMX-03 The O from MS Zeta Gundam. An old kit from 2002, it's surprisingly aged pretty well...for the most part.
Pretty much the final boss suit from the Zeta series. Comes with 3 hands (2 right, 1 left), its custom beam rifle, and 4 beam sabers with MG size beams! But why 4? Because this baby has sub arms in the skirt that fold out and can hold a saber handle! Pretty cool even if they don't open up. What makes it even BETTER is that you can actually store all 4 beam saber handles in the side skirts! Pretty nifty. You can at least have the 3 sabers out while it holds its non-storable beam rifle. This thing has some cool tubing that lets it appear like it's bending or shifting along with the mobile suits movements, just be careful it doesn't pop out. It's not too hard slipping them back in.
Didn't like the pukish yellow color it originally comes in so did a repaint in more a sun burnt yellow. Worked out a lot better, least it's more accurate to the box art. I also went with a navy blue to hopefully get a better contrast otherwise it might look too dark and more a black. When it comes to painting it's relatively simple...you have 4 main colors to work with puke/faded yellow, dark blue, red, and green for thrusters. If you want this to look decent, you'll need to do quite a bit of paint work on the blue back skirt thrusters, all the blue under the feet, red for the sub arm piping, blue on inner back skirt, blue on the knuckles, blue/yellow on the inner part of the arms where the red piping is, blue on the front shin, beam sabers (come blue in box, depending on your preference because it switches between blue and yellow), and green in the 80+ thrusters all around this kit and yes the tiny ones on back skirt too. I also did some neon paints for the monoeye and beam sabers so they have a glow in the dark effect, would recommend. Comes with very few stickers, mainly the red for the top of the feet, but if you're painting this thing anyways (recommended) then might as well. The stickers aren't that bad since they're mostly covered anyways.
It's not going to be the most articulated thing out there, if you looked at this and were hoping for it...what's wrong with you? Even in the series it relied on all the boosters around its body to move around in space battles. It articulates well enough to get decent poses, sometimes lil iffy trying to hold the beam rifle in a straight or shooting pose. It can move enough to do what it needs too, the ball joint head and waist swivel can do plenty even with the 90 degree arm bends limit you.
Minor complaint is that one of the front skit ball joints was kinda loose when trying to put it in, so added but of superglue to thicken it up. That way it can hold up on its own when posing. But overall, it's a great kit worth getting. It's a chonky sumo boi piloted by a male feminist from Jupiter. It's definitely a unique design as many of Zeta's designs were. However, I would strongly recommend that if you do to repaint it...so not exactly a beginner friendly kit. If you got the time and patience to work on this, go for it. It's more an Advanced kit if you plan on making it look decent/color accurate.
