My bf got me into Persona 5 a while back and we've had fun brainstorming ideas for what our own personas would be.

Based on the Japanese folk tale of the Maneki-neko, or beckoning cat. There's many different versions of it, but they all involve someone showing kindness to a cat and being blessed with fortune in some way. The most common version of the story sees a poor store owner using what little stock he has left to feed a stray cat. In return, the cat stays and beckons patrons, leading to a huge boom in business and blessing the shopkeep with fortune.

The name Usugumo is taken from a version of the tale involving a courtesan of the same name being the one to meet the cat.
