Campaign planning!
catspajamas and I spend quite a bit of time online talking about D&D and other such RPG thingamajigs! We go over rulesy stuff and story stuff and right now I've given him some input on a Mouse Guard campaign he will hopefully be running soon. 4 almost put me off D&D completely. It's not really playable as it is, but it fixes so many things that were wrong with 3.x that you have a hard time going back to earlier editions. Overall though 3.x is just more fun, especially if you're playing with Book of Nine Swords so the fighter types can compare with the spellcasters.
I enjoy 4e for what it is: a very different game. My gaming circle used to include a lot of minmaxers, and by the time I got into RPGs there were enough books out to really cheese things out for some truly broken builds that ensured nobody else could get the spotlight. I was excited about 4e since it was a clean reboot, and was structured from the beginning to make sure it had a simple underlying combat system in which clear flow of rules exception priorities would ensure quick resolution of a dispute.
It's not exactly turned out as I'd hoped, as they're piling on the splat at a rate quicker than 3e ever did in the past.
I've still got me 3.5 books though in case I find a group willing to run it, and I've played in a few Pathfinder sessions. Oddly enough in my circle of local RPG players, there's a few furries, and when the subject of Mouse Guard came up, it was the non-furries that seemed most excited about it.

This picture is good and a lot of fun, but the look on your face makes me think you're going to like, reach over and take the book from him and toss it over your shoulder and be like, "Don't worry about those saving throws baby, just relax and let the DM take care of it..." and then the lights go out. :x
