Corporate Pride is Bullshit 2
Remember how Kellogg's was founded in part to cure homosexuality? How when acid circumcisions failed, John Harvery Kellogg (noted eugenicist and segregationist) decided to pivot to cereal instead to stop the gay. Yeah. I totally respect their weird pandering given that history. Thank you Mr. Company, you've truly saved the gays with this weird froot loops tie-in.
These two are also boyfriends. It's cute.
Corporate pride pandering isn't.

I'd say there's definitely silver linings to it, but it just means that corporations have realized that gay people have money as well. The people like the Kelloggs founder would still try their best to be rid of the guys if they could. Let alone the weird hyper religious groups.
Its an elevation of the status of LGBT+ stuff to "demographic", not bad, arguably a step in the right direction, but I still don't wanna be pandered to.

Pretty good stuff, always love seeing your take on Chip/yeah....forgot that the original Kellogg founder was a bit of a homophobic nutcase. The pandering is a bit annoying but companies do that. It's super telling that in countries where that stuff is outlawed, even punishable by death, you don't see a single hint of them even approaching this subject on said country's pr branch twitter feed.
They're playing both sides for one thing, the dosh, and really I guess you can't blame them for being companies? Just makes any pandering feel hollow. That tangent aside, yeah, really lovely stuff.

Sorry to be a bit persnickety, but for most it's not technically a choice. I guess it is in the sense that you can choose to live inauthentically with an opposite-sex partner, or spend your life single and celibate. But then the sorts of people who think those are good options don't seem too keen on the idea of people seeing openly same sex couples living in contented, stable long term relationships. Go figure!

The corporation that has profited off his legacy and work but done nothing to make amends for his misdeeds pretending to support the causes he fought against is the issue here.
Not some old guy misunderstanding things. The current, long lasting damage that the megacorp not working to right the wrongs of its founder while espousing progressive jargon like theyre helping. That's the problem point here.
It'd be better if they just shut up and didn't front.
