This is a 6 part madrigal with a built in canon between two parts and musical humour in the Quintus part.
I tried the style of the late sixteenth century madrigals which had a lot of these musical intricacies that you have to listen out for, maybe the score will help, you can ask me for it. Of course all this means that the words are a little jumbled as it's all based on imitation (so you'll have four different words at the same time, the best thing is to focus on one voice one tome and so on and so forth)
The text set is by the amazing writer (and person too),
vixyyfox
"Fox"
Furtive little fox
Skulking the shadows
During light
Brave little fox
Skipping through the yard
In darkness of night
Sly reddish thing
Past the dog’s nose
Does creep
Soft billowing fur
Through the wood pile
Quietly seeps
The world belongs
To her
One would think
She nods her head
Smiling agreement
With a wink
Bright moon
Dimming the night’s sky
Blue moon
Allowing the stars to sigh
She’ll show you no tail
Nor give you a scent
But morning’s covering dew
May hint at where she went.
