Commissioned piece for
for her friend
I know, creative title lol but that is exactly what she asked for with this picture, was Niamh giving Eliki a friendly hug on the beach. ^_^
Seems a little hermit crab has wandered into the picture hehe
Um, scanner ate the blues...the sky is a bit darker in RL and has fluffy clouds, just kinda hard to tell here.

Aw, now this is just plain adorable! Thank you so much! I love how cute they both look, and just the whole happy, summery mood of it. I'm glad that you asked to stick to the summer theme for this, because the more I thought about it, the more appropriate it seemed. What could be more cheerful than a day out at the beach, after all? You captured the mood I was looking for perfectly, with both the background, and especially with Niamh and Eliki themselves.
The way you drew this kind of reminds me a little of a children's storybook illustration, by the way. Not that that's a problem, but quite the opposite! It gives the picture a nice sense of fun that really helps boost the sense of close friendship I was hoping for.
I absolutely love Niamh's outfit in this, too. Especially the way the little flower pattern on her clothes matches the real flower in her hair. *Grins* Between this, and the cute little faerie outfit, I might have to start commissioning you to draw her in clothes more often!
Thank you so very much for this. It really does mean a lot to me to be able to get something like this done for him.

Hehe thanks I do have fun designing clothes - I wish sometimes I knew someone who could actually put some of these costumes/outfits together for ME to wear lol.
I did throw that shovel and bucket in to bring a little bit of childhood innocence to it...cuz cmon, who doesn't wanna build a sandcastle when they go to the beach? ^_^
I'm glad I got the feeling in it that you were looking for, and that both of you enjoy it. Before I forget to ask, did you want this mailed to Eliki or shall I send it along with your other pictures?

It would be fun to see some of your designs be realized, I agree. I'll bet you'd look really pretty in them, too.
Beaches do seem to be just made for sand-castle building, yes. One of these days, I'm going to have to actually try my hand at that. It has always looked like so much fun, but the few times I've been to the beach, it was too crowded to try. My fault for going to the beach in one of the most touristy areas of Florida, I guess. But I love that the little bucket and spade are there. I'm sure Niamh and Eliki would only be too happy to try building sandcastles, themselves.
As for the picture, I'd like to send it to Eliki. I did want to check with you on that, though. He actually lives in England, and I know that international shipping can cost a bit more than domestic mail. Plus I didn't know if you were willing, or able, to send things internationally. If not, or if there is any reason you would prefer not to send it yourself, you can send the picture to me, and I'll get it to him. Otherwise, I wanted to offer to pay a little bit extra to cover the cost of shipping. And thanks for thinking of that!

I do send international, I just add a $3 charge on cuz that's about what they charge me if I remember right. Would be easier to send it to you since I'll already be sending you a bunch of stuff, one less envelope to address ya know? ;) But whichever you prefer is fine with me.
