It's my favorite water doggo, Vaporeon! I tried adding some more otter influence in her face, but I'm not sure how well it comes across.
I've been experimenting with some different coloring methods lately, with this being my most successful one. I made a few other sketches of Vaporeon, but I really liked how playful and cute this one was. I cleaned up the lineart and tried some more painterly shading. I'm definitely happy with this one. Most of the time, I use many layers for color and shading. But this is a rare drawing where it was all done on a single layer, which allows the colors to blend, creating some nice effects. If you have Clip Studio, give the Gouache brush a try. It's the main brush I used for this image.
