giant creatures more often than not would cause a panic from how much damage they could cause, no matter how gentle they are when they are seen for the first time, so this is pretty accurate.

that said, with how most of the people would be freaking out and shouting, i can imagine getting it's attention would be tough enough that even climbing up on one of it's paw might just lead to clinging to it as the giant absol moves somewhere else.
