Esme doesn't typically like being up high, but on that same coin she's always secretly dreamed of flying.
Soaring through the sky like a shooting star, a childish dream for a woman like her. She knows that.
Still, there's something about moving through the air with nothing keeping you down that makes her feel safe.
Being free, untamed and unbound by reality. Weightless.
Despite her fear of heights, if she could fly...she wouldn't have to worry because she'd never look down.
Her fear isn't being up high, it's being that high and falling back down...back to the ground...back to reality and it's harsh lessons.
She'd already learned those lessons well, at least that's how she feels, but the bell still won't ring.
When will the class be over?
Maybe she hasn't learned all her lessons yet...

Yeah, I wanted to say this much sooner, but I really admire this degree of detail in most anything. The focus stays on Esme as it should, but as a whole, I really dig how elvofirida made everything feel that much more like a snapshot in time. While there's simply so much detail behind her, it's all there to serve as a backdrop for her movement. It's her stage, after all, and how well-rendered it is in the end. ^_^

You're awesome, ya know that? I felt the exact same way. And I like how you referred to it as her "stage." One thing I hope to showcase about Esme is that she's actually really into theater and plays. Masks play a big role in the character. Elvofirida is an amazing artist! I suppose I didn't consciously think of these traits until you mentioned them, but there's a degree to her clothing and her movement suggesting a flair for the dramatic! I'm going to keep my eyes on her if only to notice those small details in the future! Also, I need to look into her page to see what else elvofirida has drawn. ^_^
