Name: (The) Cheat
Sex: N
DOB: Dec 2010
Color: Sienna, spotted Tabby
Weight: He’s built like a Mini-Liger.
Breed: Cheetoh [sheh-Toe-eh] (aka Bengal-Ocicat hybrid, aka Egyptian Mau-Abyssinian-American Shorthair-Asian Leopard Cat mix) but documented by county animal control as ‘Domestic Shorthair’ as their database doesn’t recognize the breed ‘Cheetoh’.
F-Rating: Unknown and irrelevant.
Background: Was the live-in resident cat in the boarding Cattery for ten years where I work. Recent policy changes from pressure by certain parties decreased the amount of time he was allowed out of his 3x4x5 ft crate and it sounded like they were pressing for more. After a discussion with my employer I started bring my own two cats to work to start the acclimation process (it was neutral territory for them and he’s used to playing host to strange cats). After a week with hissings and growlings from my two down 90% and their willingness to eat a bit of chicken within 6-8 feet of each other, I bought him home.
Things are progressing smoothly, currently they can lounge within 4-5 feet of each other and can be trusted alone, however there are still some eating together issues and passive-agressive behavior to work out.
Thankfully not one overt act of violence on anyone’s part.
