A young mage and protege of an obscure magical academy specializing in general sorcery with some expertise in elemental arts. His actions lead many laymen observers to presume his mind is on greater workings and on problems of an universal scale, but he's just absentminded. He's got a deep seated fear of women that are predators, even though quite a few are admirers of him. He's also got an odd weakness to ravenous pumpkins... and the sight of any pumpkin makes him freeze in fright.
Move List:
Ice Javelin - Simply put, he creates a javelin of ice and then heaves it. Unfortunately his upper body strength is atrocious and he can barely toss it more than 2 meters away.
Healing Glyph - Creates a glyph to heal himself... and only himself. He then takes a few seconds to lecture his teammates why he isn't healing them, which opens him up for being attacked.
Fireball - A basic fireball spell. While impressive to regular country and city folk... it's basically the lowest spell any magic user would know.
Whirlwind - A high level spell, unfortunately it'll hit his teammates as well so he never uses it.
Twacking Staff Whack - He thwacks an opponent with his staff. It barely does any damage but has a high chance to stun the opponent. Probably because they are wondering why he isn't casting spells.
Rebound - Casts it on himself at the start of fights automatically. All spells, no matter the caliber, are reflected unless cast by him. Unfortunately, healing spells also fall under this category and thus healing him is useless.
Please Don't Kill Me - Stares at the opponent with wide deer-like eyes. Has a chance of temporarily charming the opponent.
Volty Attack:
Deluxe Magical Spell XIV : A magical spell that hits all opponents with pure arcane energies.
Rating : 5 out of 10
He's one of the more mediocre teammates you can get on your team. Neither horrible nor great. Chances are you'll replace him with a higher level mage once you are able to recruit one. Still, his rebound spell comes in great use during fights against magic-wielding opponents, which makes him not totally useless. As well, you need him to recruit Sarahk, who's one of the best characters you can have on your team until endgame. He's also one of the more attractive characters on your team.
How to Recruit:
After the quest "Mighty Rodent King of Chaos", you can find him studying tomes in the library. Merely headbutt him a couple of times and he'll initially get angry, and then state that he'll join your party to prevent you from attempting to headbutt other people (He won't actually stop you.)
Special Notes:
During the dating event, if you choose the Imperial Path, you are actually able to go out with him. What ensues is an awkward yet lighthearted event.
Kudos to you if you get the game reference. :p Artwork by
ben-ben but the character belongs to me!
This is sorta what happens when I get bored. :X

Yep! Healing Glyph is sorta ripped off of Genius' healing spell. XD (I think that's what the guy was called.) Said it healed himself and only himself. XD That, and you have to admit that game had a LOT of throwaway/useless characters... especially the farmers and initial fighter's guild teammates you got. XD
Ah good ol' Genius. His selfish healing spell indeed XP
Yup, most of the throwaways would be a challenge to use in story battles that required a powerful team. My final human story team actually involved a pretty unique trio who worked incredibly well together. Good thing none of them were farmers though XP

I really wished I had done the human path to do the bonus dungeon. I did it with the 'fairy' team... and man that was annoying. XD Had the two orcs and the mustache knight guy (Who I just couldn't kick off my team). And, while the orcs do excel in health... they aren't really that... useful for the bosses.
Human side, Elwen, High Priest, and either the Top Mage or Thief Leader... those guys probably would easily have defeated the Ethereal Queen! :D Though always kept the girl monk chasing after Godwin, the midget, on my team. :x She was sorta cute! ^^

The fairies are really a useless bunch of losers compared to the humans. At least we know how to fight diligently. The Light Elves and their silly pixie powers are complete garbage. At least Dark Elves fight aggressively (the only reason I preferred them over others). Gadwin had to stay in the party though due to story reasons, but he wasn't useless. He's about even with some of the better intermediate class humans (and hey, he's got a Volty Blast, which counts for something). The Blood Orc leader was more powerful than the Green Orc one. I made the third slot open for a Light Elf or Dark Elf who could heal, until I got Lenneth :3
My final human team was Gregory, Aiden and Flora. Gregory supported Jack's melee, Aiden's Stone Javelin was a GREAT interrupter and Flora could heal and cure the entire team's ailments. Quite a trio I say :D

Aye, I heard Flora was one of the best healers in the game... even compared to the high priest. (Usually people suggested the country bumpkin priest... then her... then the high priest.). I sorta put the golem girl on my team... felt sorry for her after she lost the final time. :< And Jack... he just walked away like "Not my problem." Think my last teammate was Gerald... since I really liked him. :D
And yeah, man, let me tell you, I actually "enjoyed" killing the light elf king. That guy was a total dick... on both the human and fairy path. Sure, Ridley dies at the end of the fairy path... but at least you got to kill the elf king.
And, actually, I admit I did like the dark elves, they were cool and mellow... and really wished they'd have done something in the game where, even if you went one of the pathways, some of your teammates from the other side still kept their loyalty to you. Seemed even though you chose the fairy pathway, the dark elves regretted the fact they had to fight humans... since technically they were related to them.
Really wished they'd make a sequel... but, eh, the game was about as well received as the games Square Enix and Tri-ace are making lately. XD I still have nightmares of playing the latest Star Ocean.

Flora was also the girl I ended up going to the fireworks festival with since she was the only lady to adventure with Jack most of the time. She actually looks really cute when she's not wearing her priestess garb and goes casual. Gerald was badass yes :D
I hated that guy with a passion. He never made any sense. I think he was mental from the beginning because his brother wanted to help Ridley. Why did his brother help? Because it was the right thing to do, you asshole elf priss. Good riddance to that pig.
Indeed, the Dark Elves were more like us anyway. They knew how to live with honor and still have fun. Not like those snooty Light Elves.
Radiata Stories unfortunately suffered from some plotholes that never got filled, especially with particular attention to the algandars disease and why Light Elves were supposedly the only fitting vessel for Quasar the Gold Dragon. In addition, some parts made less sense to me the second time through. And through it all, I would have preferred if Aphelion had truly won, because he loved the humans. He loved them like his own children, but all the other races hated them and gladly welcomed the "changing of the world-watching dragon" so that the humans could die over and over again. That's why I also hated Jack in the end, not just because he was a dumbass.
As a result, the "shoddy gameplay", "plothole-ridden story" and "pointless venture to gather all the recruitables" worked against the game's sales. Sure, the Japanese version had wicked voice acting (Naruto's seiyuu for Jack :D), but I heard the game didn't too well over there either.

Yeah. I'm not to surprised it didn't. XD Especially near the end... seemed sorta weak to have Aphelion greet Jack as Lucian. Like, I know we already find out that he was Aphelion earlier on after you choose the pathway... but I think they should've held revealing his true identity till then. Or, at least built up to it and maybe had him reveal his true identity to Jack earlier. Sorta like in FMA (Manga and 2nd anime) where the characters all find out the fuhrer is a homunculus near the middle.
And yeah, they really left out a lot of things with the disease. Which also made the mission where you go to the castle with one of the dark elves just weird.
It's a shame too... the world was ripe with potential story-telling... and the recruitable characters could've potentially made the game interesting if who you had in your party changed certain scenes (such as they might talk, may let you avoid a battle or force you into a battle.. or even effected the outcome of a scene.) Not to mention felt annoying you couldn't have more control over your teammates, couldn't change their armour... and that they couldn't gain new attacks (taking exemption to characters that learned new moves when they joined later in the story). Not to mention your character couldn't use magic. -.-

From what I can tell, the impact of the story was to shock Jack with the knowledge that the castle minister was Aphelion all this time. Sure, he saw Aphelion prior to arriving at the City of White Nights, but once again, the idea was shock value. Still wish there was a different ending if Aphelion defeats "Mr. Fueled by his Hormones". As the Silver Dragon said, if Quasar is without a vessel, he himself would never sleep again and he could protect humans from the fairies and their childish hatred of us.
Yeah, and people wondered if Jack's father actually had the disease too during the opening movie. It was a topic of quite some debate years ago.
I expected the system to roll like that anyway. If they could let you change up your allies' skills and items, the game would have been gigantic. Changing Jack's stuff is a given of course, but I'd have loved to see more from the others. I also like your idea, because the only time the entire party shows up in a cutscene is when you first meet Valkyrie, and that's postgame stuff.
Well let's not forget Zsi, Jack's too damn stupid to open a book and learn spells. Leave that to people with intellect.

Yeah. Though Aphelion's lines were also a bit confusing... like where he said the humans themselves had created dragons as a way to regulate them. In the fairy path I thought that meant everyone would live happily ever after and the humans wouldn't be killed either. But, since they went with a very, very, vague fairy-path ending... just looked like all the humans died anyways. >.>
I wish the one general with the morning star would've lived longer. He seemed like he'd be pretty cool near end game. Plus I liked him when you had to fight the wind dragon.

Yeah, that sounded like some copout crap the writers came up with because they needed some quick fix explanation to finish the story. Though I wouldn't mind the idea of dragons watching over us (hehe), I would mind at the thought of being told we created them.
Ah yes, Dynas. He was pretty cool, and he seemed like a great character as well...up until his eventual demise.
