As I don't see any openings, I'm going to presume that it uses a form of reactionless drive system, such as an Alcubierre-Lentz drive, etc., in order to effect movement? I ADORE the design, note! What's the crew capacity, if any (or, possibly, passenger, considering the nature) and in what kind of environment (if any)?
Thank you!
Yeah, they use reactionless drives. They use the same fictional principle as the setting's psionics. : )
They're bio"ships" without a crew, typically. Normally they don't even have much in the way of passenger space, though they can alter themselves to provide some, or at least carry passenger compartments. A sizable cargo-configuration valcien could haul a pretty big passenger module, but it's tough to put a number on it.

Firstly, thank you SO much for the reply, it's something welcome and appreciated!
Hrmm. I'm wondering if they have specialized "breeds" or genetic lines, some which breed more reliably for cargo, some for speed, etc., in much the way one might breed horses, or, (please pardon the unpleasantly-loaded term, it applies here) eugenics (as we're dealing with sapients). I'd imagine that the passenger modules are "installed" (I think perhaps implanted might be more appropriate a term here) into body cavities that have sufficient space for them in much the same way it's possible to find some room in the abdominal cavity of a human.
On the matter of psionics and the ship's sublight/FTL drives, you have me intrigued and very much curious. Please, by all means do go on.
