
A face-shot of Taurulus bubalis, showing very clearly the distinguishing feature - the long spine on the gill cover, from which it takes the name Long-spined Bullhead or Long-spined Sea Scorpion. Also the wide mouth. As previously mentioned, these are hungry little devils. Should you make the mistake of housing these together with smaller fish, you're soon left with only very fat Bullheads.
