The Spectar houndess sat in the dirty seat. Surrounded by darkness and rubble, of what was once her home. Slowly fading away as her need to feed on a soul only increased to keep her heart beating. Anger and sadness riddled her mind as the feeling of uselessness consumed her thoughts.
Looking out into the moonlight window, she knew she wanted to live. How could she, if her body was slowly fading. Turning into a ghostly apparition.
Suddenly a bright red light was casting her shadow against the wall. Turning she saw the mark of the beast. The mark of the devil. Surrounded by symbols that had been long forgotten throughout time. She dared not move, as the circle swirled. Slowly opening a way to a different land. No, to a different realm.
A realm she had feared. The burning flames seeped out of the gapping portal. The screeches of demonic creatures and the shrieks of the damned echoed within her ears. The Spectar Houndess summoned a few of her soul keepers. An attempt to protect herself, since she had no other real power.
Just as her servants appeared and circled her, a figure appeared through the fiery depths of this portal. A demoness with horns drapped in chains. Clothes that appeared normal, compared to paintings of demons wearing armor or sultry silks. Her gaze was like no other. One eye being the color of the wide open skies. The other being the ever destructive fiery orange. Her ruby hair drapped over darkened horns, dawned with black chains. This demon approched the Spectar.
"I have been watching you. You've suffered through death as you have in life. Forced to be brought on your knees in hunger. Driving you to the point of rage. Something that fuels what little power you have," The demon hound spoke with a 'matter of fact' tone. The Spectar's eyes turned to slits as her rage only rose more. The spirit collectors spun around her faster.
"You know nothing," The spectar spoke with a growl etched in her words. The demon smirked. Her own pupils going to slits as immense power radiated from her body.
"I know everything abour you, Carmilla. Such a pretty little thing, too nice for her own good. Tortured, murdered and betrayed by all you held dear. Banished from the Silver City because your ideals don't match the high and mighty. Then turned into the spectar you are today..." The demon took a few steps closer. Leaning down close the the Spectar's face. "I am the one that can give you everything you could ever need."
"I don't want your charity..." The spectar turned her head away. Looking back out the window. The demoness sighed.
"If you say so, but if you change your mind. Summon me with this," the demon hound mused. Tossing a card onto the Spectar's lap. The spectar looked at it. Reading the unknown symbols, but somehow understanding what they said. Seeing the name of the demon before her. Saria. Just as the Spectar turned her head, Saria had already begun to walk back towards the portal. Stopping just in front of it.
"Know this though, I am doing you a favor. If it's power, you crave. If its immortality, you seek. Then, all you have to do... is follow me into the inferno... and claim all that your soul desires. Otherwise, you're soul will be collected to feed the masses for eternity. It's funny though with all that rage that you carry, are you sure there isn't a hint of revenge in there? Revenge for a life that was taken from you?" Saria smirked as she walked through the portal. Disappearing within the flames that spat and crackled. The Carmilla looked at the card and then back at the portal as it began to close. She snarled and jumped to her feet. Leaping forward at such inhuman speed. Racing into the the scorching lands of hell, as the portal closed behind her.
